Chaya Spector has been a photographer for over 30 years. Starting with photographing and archiving family events while living in upstate New York, she soon was shooting and developing black and white nature images. Chaya moved to California in 1980, where she launched her study in nature photography, her true love. She has studied with several nature photographers including Joe McDonald, Carol Leigh, and George Lepp. Chaya’s photographic travels have taken her to the Everglades, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Arizona, as well the beautiful venues of California. She lives in Oakland, California with her long term partner Bridgett, their dog Kirby, and cat Smokey.
